The diameter of a guide wire was measured.

Manufacturer's specification of diameter = 0.89mm
Error = +2.25%

Punctured Hole

The minimum width of a defect, i.e. a punctured hole, was measured.

Calculated minimum width = 2.13mm
Minimum width measured mechanically = 2.20mm
Experimental error = -3.30%

Coin

The diameter of a coin was measured.

Calculated measurement of diameter = 20.38mm
Mechanical measurement of diameter = 20.40mm
Error = -0.1%
